China is now facing what may be the worst flooding disaster in its recorded history.
Rongjiang, Guizhou – A devastating flood is sweeping across southern China, forcing more than 80,000 people to evacuate, sweeping away tens of thousands of homes, and turning entire neighborhoods into rubble.
In Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, water levels have surged past 837 feet (over 255 meters), swallowing entire communities, shutting down traffic, and destroying critical infrastructure. Roads that once bustled with life are now vast, muddy lakes.
Around 50,000 residents returning home after evacuation are now faced with scenes straight out of an apocalypse: destroyed houses, lost belongings, and neighborhoods buried in mud and ruins.
Local authorities have called it a “once-in-50-year flood.” But many residents insist: “We’ve never seen anything like this in our lifetime.”
Not Just Guizhou – A Domino Effect Across the South
Worryingly, this disaster isn’t confined to one area. The floodwaters are now tearing through neighboring provinces such as Guangxi, Hunan, and others in southern China. Major rivers are at red-alert flood levels, putting millions more at risk.
Experts warn: This is no longer a single extreme weather event. It’s a dangerous domino effect fueled by relentless rainfall and weak flood infrastructure in many rural areas.
The World Is Looking Away
While global media remains focused on politics and international conflicts, this major natural disaster is going largely unnoticed. Chinese citizens are flooding social media with shocking photos and videos of the destruction, urging the international community to take notice.
“Something massive is unfolding right now… and it deserves the world’s attention,” one social media user wrote.
The Battle for Survival Continues
Rescue teams are working around the clock to evacuate residents and bring them to safety. Volunteer groups and local organizations are doing their best to supply clean water, food, and temporary shelter to the thousands who have lost everything.
But with more heavy rain in the forecast for the coming days, the risk of landslides, flash floods, and further devastation remains extremely high.
